FREEDOM PREP RUGBY

Rugby is an amazing sport that isn’t just for the rich and famous or British royalty. Our girls’ and boys’ rugby teams have proven that if given access and tools to succeed, our kids can do ANYTHING! Like win state championships time and time again! Thanks to Memphis Inner City Rugby (MICR), our program partners, our students are excelling in rugby and learning life lessons along the way.

Rugby Program Highlights:

  • 2017 girls won the Rugby 7s TN State Championship
  • 2017 boys came in 3 th in the state
  • 2018 girls went undefeated and won the Rugby 7s TN State Championship
    (again!)
  • 10 of our male alums compete at the collegiate level (University of Memphis,
    University of TN at Knoxville and MTSU)
  • Several of our former students are now rugby coaches for other Memphis youth
  • 2 members of the girls’ team made High School All Americans
