FREEDOM PREP RUGBY
Rugby is an amazing sport that isn’t just for the rich and famous or British royalty. Our girls’ and boys’ rugby teams have proven that if given access and tools to succeed, our kids can do ANYTHING! Like win state championships time and time again! Thanks to Memphis Inner City Rugby (MICR), our program partners, our students are excelling in rugby and learning life lessons along the way.
Rugby Program Highlights:
- Two members of our team have signed to play at Dartmouth and Brown.
- 2017: won the Rugby 7s TN State Championship
- 2017: came in 3rd in the state
- 2018: went undefeated and won the Rugby 7s TN State Championship
- 15+ of our alums compete at the collegiate level (Brown, Dartmouth, University of Memphis, UT Knoxville, and MTSU)
- Several of our former students are now rugby coaches for other Memphis youth
- 2 members made High School All Americans
