Freedom Preparatory Academy Charter Schools Names Ra’Chel Ford as Chief Executive Officer
[Memphis, TN] Freedom Preparatory Academy Charter Schools (FPA) has named Ra’Chel Ford as the next Chief Executive Officer (CEO) following a national search led by FPA’s Board of Directors in partnership with the K12 Search Group, a firm with deep experience in executive searches within the education sector. Mrs. Ford will join Freedom Prep full-time on May 1, 2026.
Mrs. Ford brings over a decade of leadership experience in public education, most recently serving as Interim Chief Executive Officer of KIPP Atlanta Schools. She previously held several executive roles, including Deputy Chief Executive Officer and Chief Operating Officer, where she strengthened school operations, developed leadership pipelines, and supported improved student outcomes for students across the network.

Earlier in her career, Mrs. Ford also served as Chief of Staff for District Support at the Tennessee Department of Education, supporting school districts across the state. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Urban Policy Studies from Georgia State University, an MBA in Global Management from the University of Phoenix, and a Master of Education in Educational Leadership through the Broad Center’s Urban Educational Leadership Residency.
Mrs. Ford brings a deep belief in the potential of all students and a strong commitment to ensuring they have access to the opportunities and support they need to succeed in college and in life.
