About Freedom Prep
Freedom Preparatory Academy is a network of tuition-free public charter schools serving students in Memphis, TN, and Birmingham, AL. Founded in 2009 with an inaugural class of 90 sixth-grade students, Freedom Prep began with a bold vision to provide a high-quality education that prepares students for success in college and in life. Today, Freedom Prep serves nearly 2,000 students from PreK through 12th grade across both cities.
Our mission remains clear: to equip every student with the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to lead lives of purpose and excellence. As we continue to grow our reach across the South, Freedom Prep remains committed to preparing the next generation of leaders through strong academics, character development, and a focus on college readiness.
