Enrollment Eligibility
Applications are open to all students in Birmingham. Admission into Freedom Prep is contingent on completion of the application, satisfactory evidence of the below mentioned documents, and compliance with eligibility requirements listed in this section. A student admitted into Freedom Prep must finalize registration within a specified timeframe as indicated in the admission and acceptance notification. Failure to adhere to any of the aforementioned requirements may result in rescinding the admission offer.
Lottery
Freedom Prep will use the lottery system on the PowerSchool platform. The PowerSchool admission lottery system is a randomized system which determines applicant consideration in the event that there are more applicants for admission into Freedom Prep than seats available. The lottery will occur in a public setting. No Freedom Prep employee or board member will have influence over lottery selection. The results of the lottery will be disseminated to the affected parties at the discretion of the administration at Freedom Prep.
Should the number of applications exceed the number of available seats for a specific grade, a random, public lottery will be held to fill the available seats offered to those and their families who will be asked to complete the enrollment process. A waiting list of completed applicants will be maintained so should a student chosen through the lottery choose to not attend students for that grade on the waiting list will be identified for enrollment.
