FPA Whitehaven Elementary (Millbranch)

Freedom Prep Charter Schools prepare all students in grades Pre-K through 12 to excel in college and in life. With a vision to transform education for students of color across the South, Freedom Prep aims to demonstrate what’s possible, inspire broader change, and carry the torch of the civil rights movement.

Freedom Preparatory Academy is part of one of the highest-performing charter school networks in the Memphis metro area. Notably, 100% of graduates from the first four classes have been accepted into four-year colleges and universities.

Located in the Whitehaven community, the Freedom Prep – Millbranch Campus has been honored as a Reward School for two consecutive years. The diverse curriculum includes Spanish instruction for all students, with an emphasis on the contributions of Black and Latinx authors, historical figures, and leaders in literature, science, and mathematics.

A wide variety of extracurricular activities are available, including the Spanish Club, cheerleading, Girl Scouts, the Student Government Association, and Healthy Kids. These programs offer students opportunities to grow, develop leadership skills, and form lasting connections both in and out of the classroom.
